Summer Is Here
Summer 2022 is here! I’m really looking forward to seeing God do great things! I have a full schedule; several of the places I love to go each year and one new opportunity – in Tennessee!
Our VBS series for 2022 is New Creatures, a series about growing as a Christian based on 2 Corinthians 5:17.
Our new series for camp ministry is called I Love the Bible, which we will use to talk to kids about how to spend time with God each day–very excited about that one!
In June, I will be traveling to Camp Tapawingo in Tennessee and speaking at Jenison Bible Church VBS. You can contact the church directly for more information on their VBS.
Our other Truth Alive initiatives will continue while the summer ministry is in full swing.
We continue to see increased enrollment in the Verse-A-Day mail club.
We’ve restarted posting regular devotionals on our Truth Alive social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram.
We are seeing increased engagement with our revamped Truth Alive website.
We are continuing to expand and improve our midweek kids club curriculum.
We are so appreciative for the great team of folks making all these ministries happen!
Speaking of our great team, last month, Janet mentioned our round-table discussion and I just wanted to mention it as well. In April we gathered together with several team members and other interested parties to brainstorm new opportunities, improvements, and ideas for reaching kids through the ministry. It was a blast! We’re excited to further explore these opportunities after our summer ministry wraps!
I’ve been thinking about a great old hymn lately - “Showers Of Blessing” and I agree with the words of the chorus, “showers of blessing; showers of blessing we need. Mercy drops ‘round us are falling, but for the showers we plead.”
Here at Truth Alive, we’re seeing lots of mercy drops. God is helping us as we work to reach kids. Some very exciting doors are opening. God, through you, is being so generous in supplying our needs. But as you look at our world, the need is so great; there are so many lost and hurting people - so many crazy, impossible things going on. Our hearts just seek for God to break through and do GREAT things! So, God, please, for those showers we plead!
